Automotive / Diesel Mechanic – Independent Contractor (1099) Sumter Cars and Trucks, Inc. is looking for an experienced and dependable Automotive Mechanic to assist with servicing and repairing vehicles at our dealership. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable in both gasoline and diesel vehicles and is comfortable diagnosing and repairing a variety of cars and trucks. Pay $20–$30 per hour, based on experience and skill level. What We’re Looking For Experience working on both gas and diesel vehicles Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills Ability to work independently and efficiently Must have your own tools Must have reliable transportation Dependable, honest, and able to complete work in a timely manner Experience with used vehicles and a variety of makes and models is a plus We currently have a one-bay shop with one vehicle lift, along with additional space available for repairs and service work. Schedule Work is generally Monday through Friday, with some Saturday work as needed. We are looking for someone comfortable with this general availability.
