David Taylor Michigan City CDJR is looking for a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Automotive Parts Counter Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate has automotive parts experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced dealership environment. You will work closely with our service technicians, service advisors, retail customers, and wholesale customers to make sure the right parts are identified, ordered, and delivered accurately and efficiently. Our Parts Counter Specialists play an important role in keeping our Service and Parts Departments running efficiently while providing an excellent experience for both internal and external customers. Day-to-day responsibilities include: Assist technicians and service advisors with identifying and locating the correct parts needed for repairs. Assist retail and wholesale customers with parts inquiries and purchases. Look up parts accurately using manufacturer catalogs and dealership systems. Provide accurate pricing, availability, and estimated delivery times. Process parts sales, special orders, returns, and exchanges. Order parts from manufacturers and outside vendors when necessary. Receive, inspect, and properly stock incoming parts. Maintain accurate inventory and help ensure parts are properly labeled and organized. Notify technicians, service advisors, and customers when special-order parts arrive. Maintain accurate records of parts issued, sold, returned, and received. Assist with shipping and receiving as needed. Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional Parts Department. Build strong working relationships with technicians, service advisors, customers, and vendors. Provide prompt, professional, and friendly customer service. Follow dealership policies and procedures regarding parts sales, inventory, returns, and warranty parts. Work with the Parts Manager and other team members to help achieve departmental sales, gross profit, and customer satisfaction goals. Qualifications To be successful in this position, an individual should possess: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Previous automotive parts experience preferred. Dealership parts experience is a plus. Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram parts experience is a plus, but not required. Strong computer skills and ability to learn dealership and manufacturer systems. Ability to accurately identify and look up automotive parts. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Self-motivated, dependable, and goal-oriented. Professional appearance and strong work ethic. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
