Automotive Parts Counter Sales Associate
COUNTRY CHEVROLETJob Summary We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Automotive Parts Counter Sales Associate to join our team. Looking for someone with prior parts experience. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers/Techs seeking automotive parts and accessories, providing expert guidance and exceptional service. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and inventory management will ensure customers receive the right parts efficiently. Bilingual skills and familiarity with dealership operations are highly valued to support diverse customer needs and enhance sales performance. Duties Assist customers in identifying and selecting the appropriate automotive parts and accessories based on their vehicle’s make, model, and specific needs. Provide technical advice on automotive diagnostics, repair procedures, and maintenance services to support customer decisions. Manage inventory control by stocking shelves, processing orders, and ensuring accurate stock levels using POS systems and inventory management software such as Reynolds&Reynolds. Handle cashiering duties including cash handling, processing sales transactions via POS systems, and issuing receipts. Engage in upselling and cross-selling of products to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Maintain organized displays and ensure the cleanliness of the parts counter area. Collaborate with the service department to facilitate order fulfillment and timely delivery of parts. Utilize communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and vendors, including phone etiquette for inquiries and follow-ups. Support marketing initiatives by promoting special offers or new products to customers. Requirements Proven experience in retail sales within an automotive dealership or repair shop/ parts environment is required. Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, automotive repair, and automotive service procedures. Proficiency with inventory management systems, POS platforms, Microsoft Excel, and organizational tools such as DMS is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and provide outstanding customer service. Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish or other languages) are a plus to serve a diverse customer base. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order fulfillment processes. Basic math skills including retail math for transactions and inventory calculations. Experience with dealership operations or retail sales marketing strategies is advantageous. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and phone etiquette.
