Walters & Wolf Interiors is currently seeking a Full-Time Assistant Project Manager to join our team in-person in Fremont, CA! Position Summary The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the successful planning, coordination, and execution of commercial Division 8 projects involving hollow metal and aluminum doors and frames, wood doors, finish hardware, access control coordination, and specialty openings. Working closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Detailers, Vendors, General Contractors, and Field Teams, the APM helps ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents and company standards. Reports To: Project Manager / Senior Project Manager Department: Project Management Employment Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt Pay Range: $36 - $45 per hour. Job Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to; Assist Project Managers with the planning and execution of Division 8 projects from award through closeout. Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and submittal requirements. Coordinate submittals, shop drawings, product data, samples, and approvals. Track RFIs, ASIs, change orders, and revisions to contract documents. Assist in preparing and issuing purchase orders to manufacturers and suppliers. Coordinate material procurement, production schedules, and deliveries. Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays or conflicts. Communicate regularly with general contractors, architects, suppliers, installers, and internal departments. Maintain accurate project documentation, logs, and correspondence. Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, billing support, and forecasting. Coordinate field measurements, hardware schedules, and installation sequencing. Support punch list completion, project closeout documentation, warranties, and final deliverables. Attend project meetings as required. Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety requirements, and contract obligations. Coordination between shop and field, scheduling manpower for projects. Attend monthly internal PM meetings with all departments. Scheduled site visits with PM/SPM. Provide support for projects when PM is OOO or unavailable (you’ll be the point of contact for any questions). Provide assistance to Detailing and Engineering dept when needed. Additional Requirements Minimum 2+ years of construction experience, preferably in the Doors and Hardware Industry. Excellent command of the English language. Excellent mathematical aptitude. Strong work ethic and a dedicated team player. Desire to learn and adapt quickly. High level of interpersonal skills for handling sensitive and confidential situations. Analytical ability with attention to detail and the ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines. 100% on-site, Monday–Friday. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
