The anticipated start date is July 1, 2027. Qualifications We seek a dynamic, collaborative individual who complements the department’s expertise. Applicants must have, or be close to completing, a PhD in agricultural economics, economics, or a related field, with expertise in food and agribusiness management, including but not limited to, agribusiness, operations management, supply chain management, managerial economics, food marketing, consumer behaviour or finance. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong existing or emerging original & high-quality internationally recognized publication record. the potential to become a high-quality post-secondary instructor at all levels, including the ability to provide leadership and mentorship in student experiential learning opportunities related to agri-food marketing and other industry-engaged learning activities. a clear ability to mobilize and transfer their knowledge to diverse communities of stakeholders through outreach activities. the ability, or strong potential, to secure external research funding and develop a sustainable program of funded research. Duties and Responsibilities The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain a high-quality externally funded research program and to publish in leading academic journals in agricultural economics, with an emphasis on agribusiness, operations management, supply chain management, managerial economics, food marketing, consumer behaviour or finance. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching in food and agribusiness management and related areas as assigned by the department chair. Specific course assignments will be determined based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and departmental needs. The department expects the successful candidate to develop and maintain teaching excellence. The successful candidate will support the growth of undergraduate and graduate programs and contribute to the department’s graduate program through the supervision of graduate students. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an effective outreach program that extends the impact of their research in informing public and private sector decision-makers. The expected distribution of effort for the position is 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service/outreach.
