Responsibilities Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and staff scheduling. Lead and motivate retail sales team members to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve sales goals. Manage inventory levels through effective stock ordering, merchandising, and stock replenishment to ensure product availability. Supervise cashiering activities, including cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records. Train new employees on store policies, product knowledge, customer service standards, and operational procedures. Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and onboarding new team members. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and health standards to create a safe shopping environment for customers and staff. Qualifications Proven experience in retail management or assistant management roles within the retail industry; pet store experience is a plus. Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively and communicate clearly with staff at all levels. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks such as inventory management, scheduling, and customer service simultaneously. Proficiency in POS systems, basic math skills for cash handling and sales calculations, and familiarity with retail math concepts. Knowledge of pet products, animal care basics, and retail merchandising principles. Experience with employee orientation, training & development programs, budgeting, and operational management is preferred.
