About the Role


As a key contributor within the Product Division, the Assistant Buyer will support the Calgary pop-up location by executing buying activities and ensuring operational accuracy and product flow. The Assistant Buyer supports the execution of buys, intake, pricing preparation, inventory processing, and operational processes that support the buying function. Success in this role requires strong organization, attention to detail, client service skills, and the ability to execute buying and operational processes efficiently while maintaining accuracy and company standards. 


Key Responsibilities


Buying & Operational Execution: 


  • Support the buyers in executing daily buying activities including appointments, walk-ins, and drop-offs.
  • Assist in preparing items for pricing, including product research, data entry, and pricing support in Shopify and Reselly.
  • Execute inventory intake, RFID tagging, labeling, organization, and shipment coordination.
  • Ensure all items are processed accurately and within established timelines.
  • Maintain strong RFID inventory accuracy and ensure all items are tracked correctly through the intake process.
  • Troubleshoot system or intake issues in real-time to maintain operational efficiency.


Client Service & Relationship Management:


  • Engage daily with in-store suppliers, curating, pricing, and authenticating items with precision
  • Provide exceptional service to both suppliers and customers, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Support client appointments, drop-offs, and communications
  • Deliver a high level of client service, ensuring a professional and efficient buying experience.
  • Help build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers to support consistent product flow.


Develop Pricing Expertise & Market Knowledge:


  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activity, and product performance to refine buying decisions.
  • Analyze sales data to identify high-performing products and optimize inventory levels to align with demand.
  • Meet margin targets for buyout, store credit, and consignment at the time of purchase to maximize profitability.
  • Partner with authentication experts to ensure all items meet our rigorous standards and uphold our commitment to authenticity.


Support the Team:


  • Take initiative in executing buying activities efficiently and proactively, while effectively prioritizing tasks to meet business needs.
  • Provide clear communication and updates to the buying team regarding product intake, issues, and operational updates.
  • Support operational set-up and process improvement for the Calgary pop-up location


Accountable For:


  • Operational accuracy of product intake and system entry
  • RFID tagging and inventory accuracy
  • Organization and processing of all Calgary intake
  • Supporting execution of buys alongside Pop-Up Manager
  • Product flow from intake to shipment
  • Client communication and intake coordination
  • Maintaining quality control and intake accuracy standards  


What This Looks Like Day-to-Day:


  • Supporting buying appointments, walk-ins, and client drop-offs
  • Preparing items for pricing (research, data entry, pricing support)
  • Tagging and processing inventory using RFID systems
  • Organizing and managing intake and processing areas
  • Ensuring authentication and payment timelines are met
  • Supporting Pop-Up Manager in executing buys and client experience
  • Working with Buying Assistants and pop-up staff to ensure multiple quality checkpoints are met throughout intake
