Assistant Buyer

RHYTHM BAND INSTRUMENTS has been a brand owner and distributor of quality musical instruments and education products in Fort Worth, Texas since 1961. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented WINNER to join our Operations Team. This person fundamentally contributes to RBI’s success by driving our inventory replenishment routines, working directly with our suppliers and logistics contacts to ensure timely delivery of our orders, and supporting our Sales Team to meet our customers’ needs. The individual will embody organization, reliability, teamwork, and strong attention to detail with the proven ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS: · Effective communication and organizational skills · Strong understanding of retail and distribution math · ERP experience (Epicor Prophet 21 experience is a plus!) · Efficient and accurate approach to data entry · Understanding of basics of ERP database report writing · Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, OneDrive, Teams, etc.) · Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, marketing or supply chain · Background in musical instrument retail/distribution, music performance or education. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Item File Maintenance · Ensure complete and accurate item creation · Manage product lifecycle in the ERP · Maintain current costs Purchasing and Procurement · Maintain cyclic replenishment schedule · Prepare, submit and maintain purchase orders and related documents · Track purchase order status and delivery timelines Production · Maintain assembly bill of materials · Assist in continual assessment and communication of priorities for the Production Team Vendor and Supplier Relations · Serve as primary logistics contact for international suppliers and our customs broker · Maintain timely, efficient and effective communications · Foster positive relationships with all supplier contacts Inventory Control · Facilitate daily cycle counts · Ensure timely completion of inventory adjustments as such needs are discovered Sales Team Support · Provide the Sales Team with daily logistics updates on inbound LCL/FCL shipments · Facilitate factory-direct orders for international customers · Serve as the first contact for internal product ETA inquiries Job Type: Full-time Pay: Up to $52,500.00 per year Benefits: Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Application Question(s): Are you willing to complete a background check?
