Assistant Buyer

Heritage Candy is a B2B candy distributor/wholesaler to grocery store chains, and we are looking for someone with grocery or distributor buying experience to join our team! This is a full time in-person position, and you'd be working out of our Van Nuys, CA office (located near Woodley Park / Lake Balboa Golf Course). We are a family-run business that really enjoys the opportunity to get all our candy items out to the retail market! More details about our Assistant Buyer role are below: Responsibilities Include: Processing new Purchase Orders from start to finish Helping with production planning / maintaining the production schedule Maintaining relationships with our vendors and retailers Checking inventory levels and updating our spreadsheets Placing new orders for product Managing various product samples for accounts Arranging freight for candy pick ups Qualifications Include: Retail buying or wholesale experience Computer skills - proficiency with software programs (including Excel, which we use often) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Positive "can-do" attitude Familiarity with accounting software is a plus!
