Amazon Van Porter / Fleet Mechanic Tech – Hands-On
Accelerated-Logistics, LLCAccelerated Logistics (ACLR) is a delivery company with a fleet of vans and a team of drivers who hit the road every morning. Our porters keep that fleet running. Every van that leaves our lot clean, fueled and safe to drive got that way because a porter did the job right. About the Role This is not a desk job and it's not a "wait to be told" job. You'll be on your feet all day, on the lot, working on vans with your hands. You'll change tires, swap bulbs, top off fluids and handle the problems drivers bring you before they head out. When nothing is broken, you'll be cleaning vans. We move fast. Some mornings dozens of vans are lined up to launch, and some evenings 15 of them come back at once. We need someone who stays calm and doesn't cut corners. What You'll Do Make quick repairs on the spot: tire changes, headlight and taillight bulbs, wiper blades, sidesteps and other basic fixes. You'll handle them while drivers wait so vans get out on time. Inspect tires: check tread depth and look for nails, and replace worn tires before they become a problem. Top off fluids: check and add oil and coolant across the fleet. Inspect vans: walk the lineup during morning launch and inspect every van that comes back at night, including lights, doors, tires, equipment and EV charge levels. Clean vans inside and out: remove trash, wipe down cabs, sweep cargo areas and clean glass. That includes the dirty jobs no one else wants. Handle equipment: manage driver phones, battery packs, gas cards and gear at check-out and check-in. Keep track of parts and supplies: count inventory and speak up before we run out of tires, bulbs or supplies. Report problems clearly: post van number, what's wrong and what you already tried in our fleet chat so the next shift can pick it up. What We're Looking For Mechanical experience: you're comfortable changing a tire, replacing a bulb and checking fluids without someone walking you through it. Background as a tire tech, lube tech, auto shop helper, fleet porter or similar is a big plus. Fast-paced work history: warehouse, delivery, dealership, auto shop, rental car lot or any job where speed and accuracy both mattered. Not afraid to get dirty. This job is grease, dirt, trash and weather. If you can handle what's in the back of a delivery van without flinching, you'll fit right in. Eye for detail: you notice the cracked taillight even when the driver says "van's fine," and you report it. Self-starter: when your tasks are done, you find the next thing. There's no downtime on the lot. Flexible and reliable: you can work the opening or the closing shift as needed, including weekends, and you show up on time every shift. Physical ability: able to stand, walk, bend, kneel and lift tires and equipment for a full shift, outdoors.
