Air Export Supervisor Location: Miami, FL Department: Air Freight / Operations Industry: Freight Forwarding & Logistics Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Air Export Supervisor to lead and coordinate day-to-day international air export operations within a fast-paced freight forwarding and logistics environment. This position will oversee air export activity supporting cruise line, maritime, general cargo, and other time-sensitive accounts. The Air Export Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring shipments are handled accurately, efficiently, and within airline, customs, TSA/security, vessel, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have 3–5+ years of international air freight forwarding/export experience , strong operational knowledge, and previous supervisory or team-lead experience. Experience supporting cruise lines, maritime logistics, ship spares, AOG shipments, or other time-critical cargo is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily international air export operations. Lead and support Air Export Coordinators and Specialists. Provide compliance coverage for Miami-based air export operations, including serving as TSA Coordinator for the facility. Coordinate air export shipments from booking through airline departure and final delivery. Support cruise line, maritime, ship supply, general cargo, and other customer accounts. Coordinate time-sensitive shipments including ship spares, marine parts, provisions, medical supplies, crew luggage, technical equipment, and other urgent cargo. Monitor airline bookings, flight schedules, connections, cargo acceptance, delays, offloads, and rollovers. Ensure compliance with airline, customs, TSA/security, and international export requirements. Coordinate cargo delivery around vessel schedules, port calls, sailing schedules, and cargo cut-off requirements. Review commercial invoices, packing lists, air waybills, export declarations, certificates, and other shipping documentation. Coordinate with airlines, ground handlers, trucking companies, customs brokers, warehouses, overseas agents, ports, and terminals. Monitor shipments and proactively communicate status updates and exceptions. Resolve delays, documentation issues, service failures, and other operational problems. Develop contingency plans for urgent or delayed shipments. Review and approve operational documentation and transactions. Maintain accurate shipment data, milestones, billing information, and operational records. Monitor team workload and assign shipments and responsibilities appropriately. Train, coach, and support air export team members. Ensure compliance with company SOPs and customer-specific requirements. Maintain strong relationships with customers, airlines, vendors, agents, and service providers. Assist with KPI monitoring, operational reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve service quality, transit times, efficiency, and cost control. Support implementation and onboarding of new customers and trade lanes. Participate in after-hours or on-call support when required for urgent or time-critical shipments. Cruise & Maritime Logistics Responsibilities Manage logistics requirements associated with cruise line operations. Prioritize shipments based on vessel sailing schedules and required onboard delivery dates. Track vessel schedules, port calls, and cargo cut-offs. Coordinate urgent ship spare and AOG-type shipments. Manage last-minute changes to delivery requirements. Ensure proper cargo labeling and documentation. Provide proactive updates on critical shipments. Maintain customer-specific procedures and ensure team compliance. Compliance & Documentation Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations, customs requirements, airline regulations, TSA/security requirements, and company policies.
