An exciting Regular Part-Time opportunity as a Aide II exists in our Bay Centre for Birth Control, reporting to the Clinical Manager (Replacement, up to 0.4FTE). Summary of Duties, but not limited to: Patient Care Escorts patients within the reception area, assigned waiting room and procedure/examination room Works with Medical Secretaries, RNs and Physicians to determine and respond to patient flow to maximize efficiency and patient satisfaction Ensures that all patients in waiting room have been accounted for and assisted as required Offers physical assistance to patients with mobility or cognitive challenges, following safe patient handling practices. Assist team with safe patient transfers using Hoyer lift Replenishes patient education material within each exam room, central area, physician area and reception area Ensures procedure/examination room is prepared for daily activities and prepares advanced procedure room(s) for each patient procedure i.e. equipment, instrumentation, procedure supplies and forms Turns over the procedure/examination rooms after each patient to ensure Infection Control processes are in place i.e. remove, clean then replace linen on bed, clearing items from the previous patient procedure and brings procedure supplies into room Takes instrumentation to soiled utility room after patient use and organizes for transport to MDRC Relays patient concerns to Health Care Providers Able to anticipate and respond to Health Care team needs for procedures Department Organization Orders, receives and stocks medical/surgical supplies and linens from MDRC and/Stores daily to maintain supply Supports inventory management through anticipating supplies and managing stock with the Inventory Coordinator Ensure medication and surgical supplies are within the appropriate expiry date (on a monthly basis) Maintains general neatness of procedure/examination rooms, soiled and clean utility room Maintains organization and cleanliness of carts, equipment and work stations Prepares and organizes specimens for pick-up Performs end of day functions to prepare for next day activities Creates and maintains a safe environment Maintains excellent communication Functions well in a team environment Maintains knowledge of current practice related to Surgical Services May be required to work in all areas of Surgical Services Clinics As a role model and champion you will work to identify and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities to foster the delivery of safe and exemplary care The responsibilities described above are representative and are not to be construed as all-inclusive.
