Pinnacle Peak Road Phoenix, Arizona 85027 Posting Details: Salary: $31,909 - 44,724 Grade: 17 Closing Date: 10/07/2026 Job Summary: The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) is seeking an Administrative Assistant 3 to provide necessary administrative support to education leadership. This position’s role will ensure accurate and organized communication to stakeholders in the agency and the community. This position assists in monitoring the education bureau’s deadlines with the state and schedules meetings as requested. In addition, this person maintains accurate education records and efficiency in the education office. Additional duties include procurement support and contact with the public and other governmental agencies Job Duties: Performs a variety of complex administrative tasks for an executive and/or administrator including but not limited to research, preparing well written correspondences, special projects and coordinating activities for the Education Bureau Monitor and maintain accurate student records to include but not limited to special education records and daily student attendance in accordance with federal and state rules and regulations Generate educational data reports required by the agency and department of education Coordinates and maintains calendar(s), schedules meetings and appointments Maintaining electronic and hard copy files and records Answering telephones and general office coverage Prepare/update school calendar, charts, and the student information system Communicate with outside stakeholders to obtain necessary educational documents and disseminate information from educational administration to the teaching staff and stakeholders Order and track education supplies as directed by education administration through the procurement system Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of: Principles and practices of administration and management Office practices and procedures Proper use of the English language including correct grammar and spelling Report creation Computer software, including but not limited to Google Suites Skill in: Establish and maintain positive working relationships Effective oral and written communication Problem solving and time management Professional office organization Multi-tasking Professional report writing Analyze and interpret data Plan, organize, and coordinate activities and schedules Ability to: Learn and apply agency policy and procedures Learn agency mission, goals and objectives Maintain confidentiality Prioritize various projects Learn ADJC and State of Arizona database systems Drive on State business if necessary Work in a correctional environment Manage stressful situations Assist with grants and budget Selective Preference(s): Two (2) years of responsible administrative experience and/or a bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the assignment from an accredited college or university Bilingual skills in Spanish/English preferred but not required Pre-Employment Requirements: Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening.
