1099 Driver - OTR Cargo Van

Duties Safely operate a cargo van on designated routes, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws. Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks. Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance with all safety standards. Manage route driving efficiently, utilizing mobile devices for navigation and delivery updates. Provide exceptional customer service by delivering packages directly to customers’ doors, ensuring proper handling and placement of items. Load and secure freight properly within the cargo van to prevent damage during transit. Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery confirmations in compliance with company policies. Skills Proven experience in delivery driving or courier roles, with a strong focus on manual handling and safe lifting practices. Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations enhances efficiency in loading/unloading processes. Ability to operate box trucks or similar commercial vehicles with manual transmission confidently. Skilled in adhering to traffic regulations, DOT requirements, and weight handling standards in the workplace. Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients during deliveries. Competent in using mobile devices for route navigation, delivery updates, and communication purposes. Experience with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks is a plus for efficient load management.
