Job Description Accelerated Services is seeking a hands-on, driven Yard Supervisor to support daily operations at our automotive rail terminal in Elwood, IL. This role works directly alongside the Terminal Manager to oversee yard operations, coordinate drivers, maintain safety compliance, and ensure efficient vehicle handling. This is a fast-paced, outdoor role that requires strong leadership, organization, and the ability to problem-solve in real time. Key Responsibilities Assist with day-to-day terminal operations including vehicle processing and staging Support supervision of drivers Supervise the damage free loading and unloading of car haul loads. Ensure all loads are below maximum height requirements for route Ensure all vehicles are properly secured and loaded according to safety standards. Audit loads and ensure accuracy, safety, and customer standards are met Enforce company, DOT, and OEM safety policies Assist with safety inspections, audits, and incident reporting Qualifications 1–3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, yard, or terminal operations preferred Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Comfortable working outdoors Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) Valid driver’s license required Work Environment & Schedule Monday - Friday Onsite at an active rail yard (BNSF Railway) Significant time spent outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the yard for extended periods Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and overtime depending on volume Why Join Us?
