Yard Supervisor

The company focuses on safety, efficiency, and long-term client relationships. Role Description The Yard Supervisor is a full-time, hybrid role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. On-site, the Yard Supervisor oversees daily yard operations, including organizing inventory, coordinating equipment loading and unloading, and ensuring safe movement of heavy equipment and materials. This role manages yard staff schedules, assigns tasks, and monitors performance to maintain productive and safe workflows. The Yard Supervisor communicates regularly with logistics, sales, and project teams to meet delivery timelines and equipment requirements. Additional responsibilities include maintaining yard cleanliness, enforcing safety procedures, overseeing equipment inspections, and supporting continuous improvement of yard processes. Qualifications Strong supervisory skills with experience leading yard or operations teams and coordinating daily workflows. Hands-on yard management experience, including inventory organization, equipment staging, and yard safety practices. Knowledge of heavy equipment handling and safety standards; familiarity with construction or industrial equipment is preferred. Proficient communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, drivers, vendors, and customers. Forklift operation skills and certification, or willingness to obtain certification within a set timeframe. Ability to work on-site in the New York City Metropolitan Area. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to safety and compliance. Experience in construction supply, equipment rental, or similar yard/warehouse environment is an advantage. Basic computer skills for inventory tracking, scheduling, and reporting.
