Yard Supervisor

Job Overview: The Yard Supervisor plays a key leadership role in supporting the daily operations of Powell Foundations’ yard and shop. Reporting to the Yard and Fleet Logistics Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating yard activities, supervising yard staff, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring equipment, materials, and inventory are prepared accurately and efficiently to support field operations. This is a hands-on role for an experienced yard professional who leads by example, prioritizes safety, maintains organization and cleanliness, and communicates effectively with Operations, Foremen, and Management to keep projects moving safely and on schedule. Main Responsibilities Manage Company Yard: · Including all tooling and materials · Track, sort, and stock all incoming and outgoing materials · Ensure the yard is clean, tidy and presentable each day. · Track yard steel inventory, including sheet piles, bare steel, and galvanized. · Monitor Oxy and Actylene inventory including bottle stands. Welding Shop Fabrications / Repairs: · Maintain and repair all tooling / casing. · Keep stock of wear and consumables. · Monitor expensive tools (Lock-up room) · Manage Powell-owned rental equipment and tooling. · Advise management on damages. Qualification · Minimum 5 years of experience working in a construction or industrial yard environment · Previous experience in a lead hand or supervisory capacity is considered an asset · Strong understanding of yard operations, equipment handling, and inventory control · Knowledge of shoring systems is considered an asset but is not required · Demonstrated ability to lead by example and enforce safety policies and procedures · Strong communication and organizational skills · Ability to coordinate, assign, and monitor work for yard labourers · Comfortable working in all weather conditions and maintaining yard housekeeping standards · Valid driver’s licence required · Commitment to Powell Foundations’ safety-first culture Pay: $80,000.00-$110,000.00 per year Work Location: In person
