Role Description The Yard Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based at our Red Deer, AB location. This role oversees daily yard operations, including organizing lumber and building materials, coordinating loading and unloading of trucks, and ensuring accurate order picking and staging. The Yard Supervisor leads and schedules yard staff, assigns tasks, and monitors performance to maintain safety, productivity, and cleanliness in the yard. The role includes operating and overseeing the safe use of forklifts and other heavy equipment, managing inventory flow, and enforcing safety procedures and company policies. The Yard Supervisor communicates regularly with sales staff, drivers, and customers to address issues, support timely deliveries, and maintain a professional, service-oriented environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills, including staff scheduling, task assignment, and performance monitoring. Candidates should possess Yard Management experience, including organizing materials, maintaining yard safety, and overseeing inventory movement. Candidates should possess Heavy Equipment and Forklift Operation skills, with a focus on safe, efficient handling of lumber and building materials. Candidates should possess clear Communication skills for coordinating with team members, drivers, and customers. Relevant qualifications include prior experience in a lumber yard or building materials environment, knowledge of construction materials, and familiarity with basic inventory practices. Additional beneficial qualifications include a valid forklift certification, ability to perform physical work in varying weather conditions, and strong problem-solving and time-management abilities.
