Yard / Shop Hand

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Yard / Shop hand and become a vital part of our warehouse operations! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for supporting the movement, handling, and organization of materials within our yard and shop areas. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes, helping us maintain a safe, efficient, and productive environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on skills with heavy equipment and warehouse operations while contributing to the overall success of our operations. Responsibilities Assist with loading and unloading materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment Support order picking activities to fulfill customer or internal requests accurately and efficiently Manage inventory by organizing stock in the yard and warehouse, conducting regular stock counts, and updating records with manual logs Ensure safety standards are maintained during all manual handling tasks and heavy lifting operations Support shipping & receiving processes by preparing shipments, verifying orders, and documenting movement of goods Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and shop areas to promote a safe working environment Requirements Proven experience in warehouse distribution or related warehouse operations is highly preferred Ability to operate material handling equipment including forklifts, load/unload trucks and customers Familiarity with inventory management systems for order picking and stock inventory Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment Basic math skills for measuring, counting, and verifying shipments or inventory data Mechanical knowledge or experience operating equipment is a plus Physical ability to perform lifting, manual handling tasks, and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts CDL would be great but not mandatory Embark on a rewarding journey with us where your efforts directly impact our operational excellence!
