Yard Operations Manager

Operations Manager – Yard & Logistics Company: BETCO Scaffolds Location: Hurst, TX (Dallas/Fort Worth Branch) Job Type: Full-Time Reports To: Director of Operations Position Summary BETCO Scaffolds is seeking an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to oversee daily yard operations, shipping and receiving, dispatch, fleet coordination, and inventory management at our Hurst/Dallas branch. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven leader with a proven ability to manage personnel, improve productivity, streamline operations, and maintain accountability in a fast-paced construction equipment environment. A minimum of five (5) years of management experience is required. Key Responsibilities Operations & Personnel Management Oversee all yard, shipping, receiving, inventory, and dispatch operations. Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate operational personnel. Establish performance expectations, monitor productivity, and maintain accountability. Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements. Promote teamwork, effective communication, and a strong safety culture. Conduct daily operational meetings to establish priorities and staffing needs. Shipping, Receiving & Dispatch Coordinate deliveries, pickups, and inter-branch material transfers. Manage dispatch schedules to maximize fleet utilization and reduce unnecessary mileage and overtime. Ensure trucks are loaded accurately, safely, and on schedule. Coordinate with Sales, Construction, and branch management to meet customer and jobsite requirements. Oversee fleet maintenance and compliance with applicable DOT regulations. Address material shortages, damages, and shipping discrepancies. Inventory & Yard Management Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation of inbound and outbound materials. Oversee equipment inspections, cleaning, and preparation for rental. Implement effective inventory controls, cycle counts, and yard organization. Improve material handling procedures and equipment utilization. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies. Operational Efficiency & Cost Control Monitor productivity, staffing levels, labor costs, and operational expenses. Identify opportunities to reduce overtime and improve efficiency. Implement employee cross-training and standardized operating procedures. Establish performance tracking and measurable operational goals. Recommend improvements to workflow, staffing, and yard operations. Required Qualifications Minimum five (5) years of management experience in operations, warehouse, logistics, shipping and receiving, or a related field. Proven experience supervising employees and managing daily operational activities. Strong knowledge of inventory management, dispatch, and shipping and receiving procedures. Experience coordinating trucking fleets, deliveries, and pickups. Working knowledge of DOT regulations and workplace safety requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in scaffolding, construction equipment rental, industrial equipment, or related industries. Experience with ERP or inventory management systems. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices. Experience implementing productivity measurements and cost-control initiatives.
