Yard Manager

YARD MANAGER Needed For Established Wood Industry Equipment Dealer to oversee the overall operation of the equipment yard and shop. Act as a hands-on supervisor for the work of others. Also be responsible for training, guiding,coaching, resolving issues and serve as a liaison between subordinates and upper management. The goal is to ensure safe operations that are carried out productively while ensuring profitability and sustainable growth. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Inventory Management. Inspect, repair and maintain machinery, equipment and facility in safe, good working condition. Prepare and complete orders for shipment. Assist with coordinating and directing shipments. Maintain an orderly, clean and safe yard and shop while continually improving yard procedures, processes and effectiveness. Set goals for performance and deadlines that comply with company’s plans and vision. Organizing workflow and ensuring that employees understand their duties and/or delegated task. Monitoring employee productivity and providing, guidance, constructive feedback and coaching. Receive and resolve problems and complaints. Maintain timekeeping, personnel,safety, equipment, routine maintenance and inspection records along with a Drug Free Work Place Program. Pass information from upper management employees and vice versa. Prepare and submit performance reports and make reward/promotion decisions. Hire and train new employees. Ensure adherence to safety, legal and company policies and procedures. Take disciplinary actions if needed. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS 3 years + supervisory experience. Class A CDL required. Mechanical, welding,heavy equipment and transportation background. Familiarity with safety, legal and company policies and guidelines of the field. Ability to learn a variety of job descriptions and cross-train. Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service skills. Outstanding organizational, problem/conflict resolution and leadership skills. Strong work ethic. Ability to work inside/outside in fluctuating weather conditions.
