Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Yard Manager to lead and oversee all yard operations, ensuring efficient logistics, safety, and productivity. As the pivotal point of contact for transportation, distribution, and warehouse activities within the yard, you will drive process improvements, manage teams, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to optimize supply chain performance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence operational excellence while fostering a safe and collaborative work environment. Duties Supervise daily yard activities including freight handling, shipping & receiving, inventory control, and distribution operations to ensure seamless flow of materials. Coordinate transportation planning and logistics management to optimize delivery schedules, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Responsibilities of the General Manager include: Lead the yards daily business activity regarding scrap collection, processing, & shipping Minimum Qualifications: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Efficient with Microsoft Office and able to learn scrap software. Ensures material purchased/processed/shipped meets standards re: grading & pricing. Assures proper housekeeping procedures by all personnel. Responsible for reporting equipment repair and maintenance Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to train and motivate others Maintains budget/cost performance within annual plan. Facilitating paperwork to appropriate personnel. Ferrous and nonferrous production schedule Inventory management including production transfers Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and work on your feet for extended periods of time. The employee occasionally is required to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch. Oversees yard, warehouse, equipment inspections, and conducts weekly safety meeting Manages policy deployment in the areas of safety, employee relations, cost reduction and yard performance measures Responsible for managing the productivity and performance of the team Applicant must demonstrate his/her ability to effectively lead, motivate and develop employees Must exhibit effective problem-solving skills. Has strong understanding of material identification and is able to ensure material is processed effectively and meets quality standards Must always lead and support a culture of safety, in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards Maintain customer service as a top priority and assist in resolving any/all customer issues Open/close cash handling and daily finance report Other duties as assigned by Management Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
