Yard Manager

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Yard Manager to oversee warehouse management and operations within our facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating daily activities, ensuring efficient use of resources, and maintaining a safe and organized environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, knowledge of measurement reading devices, and familiarity with metal cutting equipment such as torches, chop saws, and bandsaws. The Yard Manager plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations and optimal productivity in our yard. Duties Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities to ensure efficient operations. Manage the organization, cleanliness, and safety of the yard and warehouse areas. Oversee inventory control, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of materials. Utilize measurement reading devices to verify dimensions and specifications of materials. Operate or oversee the use of metal cutting equipment such as torches, chop saws, and bandsaws to support fabrication or processing needs. Lead a team of workers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards at all times. Collaborate with other departments to meet project deadlines and operational goals. Maintain accurate records related to inventory, equipment maintenance, and safety inspections. Experience Proven experience in warehouse management or yard supervision. Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including inventory control and logistics. Familiarity with measurement reading devices used in industrial settings. Hands-on experience with metal cutting equipment such as torches, chop saws, and bandsaws is preferred. Leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
