Company Description

Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projets are undertaking the design, build, and finance of the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel (South Civil) package.

As Ontario Transit Group, we are now mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.

The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.

What is the project?

  • A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
  • Stations:
    • One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
    • Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
    • Four new underground stations (King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown).

Job Description

The Logistics & Yard Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all after-hours logistics, yard operations, and dispatch activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and on-time movement of store materials, non-stock materials, and equipment.

This role serves as the primary onsite point of contact during the night shift, ensuring proper yard organization, 
accurate documentation, effective driver coordination, and strict adherence to safety and operational standards. This is a hands-on coordination role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage priorities during off-hours. The position is an onsite role with a scheduled 10 hour night shift.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 CAD - $80,000 CAD, plus additional benefits.


Key Responsibilities:

Logistics & Dispatch Coordination

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries during the night shift
  • Communicate with drivers, carriers, and internal teams regarding schedules
  • Ensure accurate completion of shipping, receiving, and dispatching documentation
  • Monitor driver status and proactively resolve delays or operational issues
  • Provide direction to night-shift drivers, yard staff, or contractors as needed
  • Support a smooth handover between day and night shifts through clear reporting
  • Escalate significant issues to management with accurate and timely information
  • Complete shift reports, yard logs, and incident documentation
  • Track delivery performance KPIs, including delivery times, driver wait times, and missed loads
  • Conduct pre-shift yard and driver briefings
  • Support onboarding and training of new drivers / yard staff

Yard Management

  • Control yard flow, including truck and trailer parking and material staging
  • Ensure trailers, containers, and equipment are properly identified and logged
  • Maintain accurate yard inventory
  • Coordinate daily yard movements with labour and equipment operators as required
  • Walk the yard regularly and inspect operations

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce yard safety rules, PPE requirements, and traffic control measures
  • Conduct basic safety inspections and report hazards, incidents, or damage
  • Ensure night-shift operations comply with company policies and applicable regulations
  • Act as the first point of escalation for safety or operational incidents during the shift

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary logistics or supply chain education an asset)
  • 5+ years experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, or yard operations
  • Previous night-shift operations experience preferred
  • Experience coordinating drivers, yard movements strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Clear verbal and written communication
  • Ability to solve problems independently with limited supervision
  • Working knowledge of transportation and yard safety practices
  • Comfortable using logistics software, tablets, radios, and basic reporting tools
  • Calm, professional approach under pressure
  • Ability to work extended hours when operationally required
