Your shift, your impact At 3:00 p.m., you arrive ready to orchestrate the flow of trailers, visitors, and information. You check your radios, review carryover notes, and verify your vehicle’s daily inspection checklist before the yard begins to hum. Throughout the evening, you field internal and external calls, register visitors and guide them to the right entry points, and direct carrier drivers through a trailer security exit checklist , storing it electronically with the Bill of Lading (BOL) . You dispatch moves, record each one, and keep inventory/location data for finished goods and other trailers current and accurate. When an issue pops up, you keep customers informed, submit Quality Issue notifications, and escalate anything unresolved to your supervisor. As 11:00 p.m. nears, you complete a clean, legible shift log and hand off critical updates to the Security Guard. What you'll handle Operate confidently in all weather conditions (cold, snow, rain, heat). Provide courteous customer service by phone, email, and in person; represent a professional image during pickups and when addressing delivery concerns. Coordinate trailer moves, document each move, and maintain precise inventory/location records. Direct emergency vehicles and manage communications during emergencies when needed. Complete and maintain a detailed daily shift log; ensure clear end-of-shift pass-down to Security Guard. Perform the trailer security exit checklist with carrier drivers and store with the BOL. Submit Quality Issue notifications to the Quality Department. Register visitors, answer internal and external calls, and route inquiries appropriately. Multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment; read and interpret documents and instructions. Conduct the Vehicle Daily Inspection checklist on your assigned vehicle. Work safely and efficiently, contributing to a high-quality operation; protect the safety of others near moving vehicles.
