Yard Labourer

We are looking for an experienced Yard Labourer to join our Acheson location. Duties/Responsibilities: Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely operate a Zoomboom (telehandler), skid steer, and other yard machinery, including forklifts and cranes, to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the yard. Ensure proper use and maintenance of all equipment to avoid damage and ensure safe operation. Perform pre-operational checks to ensure all equipment is in good working condition. Move Large Items: Assist in the movement and transportation of large tanks and heavy equipment, including loading them onto wagons, trailers, and other transport vehicles. Ensure all items are securely loaded and unloaded, following proper procedures to prevent damage to equipment and materials. Safely maneuver large and bulky items in tight spaces and varying yard conditions. Inventory Management: Help manage inventory by tracking materials, tools, and equipment in the yard. Assist in organizing and labeling inventory to ensure efficient access and quick retrieval. Perform regular inventory checks to ensure stock levels are adequate and report any discrepancies to the supervisor. Maintain accurate records of items moved, received, and dispatched from the yard. General Yard Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Perform routine yard cleaning tasks, including removing debris, sweeping areas, and ensuring pathways are clear for equipment operation. Maintain an orderly and accessible workspace for all team members. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Outdoor Work in All Weather: Be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions (rain, snow, extreme heat, etc.). Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving heavy items while maintaining productivity and safety. Maintain a strong focus on safety, especially when working in adverse weather conditions. Collaborate with Team Members: Work alongside other team members to coordinate tasks and ensure that daily operations run smoothly. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure that all jobs are completed efficiently and on time. Safety Compliance: Strictly follow all company safety protocols and industry regulations. Wear required safety gear and report any unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions immediately. Participate in safety training and adhere to all guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for all team members.
