Position Description Page Break Position Title: Yard Jockey Page Break Department: Receiving/Shipping Reports To: Receiving/Shipping Manager Page Break SUMMARY Responsible for operating yard jockey truck to move trailers and trucks to appropriate docks ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Learn and perform specific safety and operational procedures for jockey truck and other tractor trailers; including daily inspection, and troubleshooting of maintenance issues. Conduct daily inspections of equipment and ensure they are in proper working condition Notify maintenance and assist with equipment issues as needed. Drive and operate vehicle in and around the plant and storage lot/staging area. Ability to operate forklift and pallet jack as needed. Must be able to back a tractor trailer into a dock door. Check fluids and fill fuel when needed Must be able to set refrigerated unit temperatures and turn them on and off. Must be able to drop and hook trailers. Perform other tasks as requested during slower times including assisting where necessary in all aspects of the potato packing process.
