Yard Jockey- 2nd Shift

Chemical Solvents Inc. has thrived for over 50 years in the Cleveland area, providing commodity materials and blending services to a wide variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, and specialty chemicals. We are currently seeking an experienced Yard Jockey to join our team. The Yard Jockey, under the direction of the Production Supervisor, is responsible for safely moving, positioning, and staging bulk tankers and van trailers throughout the facility to support production and order fulfillment. This position also assists with loading and unloading, material handling, and other production-related activities while adhering to Company safety policies and applicable EPA, DOT, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements. This is a 2nd shift position. The employee in this role will work from 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM. THIS IS A HOME DAILY ON-SITE YARD POSITION — NOT AN OVER-THE-ROAD DRIVING POSITION. MUST BE ABLE TO OPERATE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. WILL BE EXPOSED TO YEAR-ROUND OUTDOOR CONDITIONS FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Transport bulk tankers and van trailers around the site to complete stages in the order fulfillment process. Couple and uncouple trailers and position equipment in designated loading, unloading, and staging areas. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report equipment or safety concerns. Utilize production reports containing order-specific notes and batch/repack information. Load and unload van trailers, bulk tanker trailers, railcars, and other equipment as required. Utilize RF scanners to track and locate materials within the warehouse and production areas. Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as required. Fulfill customer orders according to customer-specific requirements. Follow batch formulations using the appropriate tools, equipment, and PPE. Complete shift reports and required production documentation accurately and timely. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Complete required Company and regulatory training. Comply with all applicable Company, EPA, DOT, OSHA, and other safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. 6+ months of tractor-trailer, yard jockey, yard switcher, or similar commercial vehicle operating experience; tanker experience preferred. CDL Class A preferred. Ability to safely operate a manual-transmission truck. 6+ months of forklift experience (electric and/or LP) preferred. Experience operating high-reach stand-up forklifts, drum clamps, and other material-handling equipment preferred. General mechanical aptitude. Ability to organize and prioritize work to complete shift responsibilities efficiently. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for approximately 100 ft. Ability to work outdoors in year-round weather conditions for extended periods. Ability to work at heights exceeding 15 ft. Ability to successfully complete the Company's required wellness examination. Ability to perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Basic understanding of applicable OSHA and other workplace safety requirements. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently. Experience with warehouse management software and hardware preferred. Experience with ERP software, including Datacor C/S, preferred. Must be clean-shaven and/or willing to shave as required for applicable respiratory protection and PPE requirements.
