Job Summary: Metropolitan Warehouse & Delivery is hiring an experienced local driver for our Eastvale, CA location. This role combines yard spotting with local shuttle runs, moving trailers around the yard and between our Eastvale facility and other nearby locations. You will move trailers within the yard to dock doors, staging areas, and parking positions as directed by operations, and shuttle loaded and empty trailers between Eastvale and other sites. You will also perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report equipment defects promptly, keep accurate trailer location and move records, and follow all DOT, company safety, and yard traffic rules. Communication with dock staff, dispatch, and other drivers is part of the daily routine. Candidates need a valid Class C or A CDL with a clean driving record and at least two years of verifiable experience in yard spotting, shuttle, or local tractor-trailer driving. You should be comfortable with tight backing, dock and door work, and coupling and uncoupling trailers, including air lines and landing gear. The role requires working around moving equipment and occasional overtime. Along with all duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities: Operate yard trucks and trailers to move equipment within the yard. Ensure that equipment is properly positioned for loading and unloading Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure that equipment is in good working condition Keep the yard clean and organized Assist with loading and unloading equipment when needed Communicate with the operations team to ensure that equipment is ready when needed Follow all safety procedures and guidelines Discerning suitable vehicle and container placements Maneuvering vehicles and containers between areas of our facility Assisting other Yard Hostlers by directing their vehicular movements, if needed Transporting materials to the weighing platform Cleaning and refueling designated vehicles Sanitizing containers before and after every shipment Inspecting vehicles to discern potential maintenance needs Tending to or reporting on maintenance requirements Stowing equipment away after their use Maintaining orderliness, communication, and safety in the yard Yard Hostler will receive a competitive hourly rate and are eligible for an attractive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and 401(K) after completion of an eligibility period. Flexible schedules are offered at our location and will be discussed during the hiring process. Shifts may vary depending on warehouse package volume and business needs. Individuals who are interested in starting their journey with Metropolitan Warehouse and Delivery must be at least 18 years of age and have high school diploma or equivalent and will be required to pass an interview with our Warehouse Manager before moving forward with the employment application process, should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. or more.
