Join Hellas, Inc., a TenCate Company ! Hellas, is seeking a full-time Yard Hand to join our Transportation division out of our Wylie ,TX yard. Hellas headquartered in Austin, TX, is a nationwide specializing in sports facility construction. We manufacture, install & resurface artificial turfs & synthetic surfaces while completing the design from start to finish. Job Description: As a Yard Hand in our Transportation department, you will be responsible for maintaining the organization and efficiency of our yard area, assisting with the loading and unloading of equipment, and ensuring that all activities are conducted safely and efficiently. This role requires working outside in various weather conditions, including hot environments, and handling heavy equipment. Key Responsibilities Material Handling: Loading, unloading, stacking, and organizing various materials, often by hand or with equipment. Yard Maintenance: Keeping the yard clean, organized, and clear of debris; performing basic repairs. Equipment Operation & Care: Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other yard machinery; conducting basic checks and cleaning. Inventory Management: Assisting with tracking stock levels and managing incoming/outgoing goods. Site Support: Assisting other teams (like mechanic and drivers) as needed. Safety Compliance: Adhering to all health, safety, and hygiene guidelines. Essential Skills & Requirements Education & Experience · Education: High school diploma or GED is common. · Experience: Manual labor, material handling, equipment operation. · Optional certifications: Forklift or loader experience. · Driver’s license: Valid and current. Physical Requirements · Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform heavy lifting. · Prolonged standing, sitting, bending, reaching, squatting and moving materials. · Must work inextreme heat, cold, and various weather conditions. · Good overall stamina and flexibility to work 8–12 hours/day. Skills & Abilities · Manual labor skills (moving, stacking, cleaning, and basic maintenance). · Equipment operation (forklifts, pallet jacks, loaders) if assigned. Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform minor maintenance tasks. · Basic inventory management and labeling. · Safety compliance — follow PPE rules, hazard reporting, and OSHA/standards. · Teamwork and communication with drivers, supervisors, and other yard staff. Other Requirements · Reliability and punctuality. · Ability to work independently and in teams. · Background check and drug test. · Flexibility to work on Saturdays.
