About the Company Ag Transfer LLC (“the Company”) operates an agricultural commodity (grain) transload facility in Elwood, IL as well as in MN and SC. The Company receives loads of grain and grain by-products, transfers the product into shipping containers and prepares them for export. The team uses a fleet of semi-trucks, yard hostlers, and other heavy equipment for daily operation in the process of loading intermodal shipping containers for export. Ag Transfer is looking for individuals who enjoy working outside, working on a small fast-paced team to contribute to the Yard team! Opportunity to train and grow. Job Description The Yard Driver is responsible for operating a Hostler (Spotter), hook/unhook to trailers several times a day and safely move containers/trailers in the yard. Flex into different roles around the yard. Primary responsibilities include operating yard trucks (Hostler or Yard Jockey) during the grain loading process. Everyone works to ensure the general upkeep of facility grounds during and after loading operations each day. Employees will be expected to learn and follow safety policies and procedures at all times. This is a full-time position with full benefits and consistent overtime. Start by 6:30am. Shift ends when all trucks are unloaded, typically around 3:30pm-4:00pm. Overtime available year round. Monday through Friday, occasional/rarely weekend hours. Job Requirements Must have a valid driver’s license . Hostler/yard jockey/spotter experience is preferred. Ability to be trained to back yard trucks and trailers into position. Ability to learn all safety practices and adhere to facility safety policies and procedures. Must pass a pre-employment drug test and comply with drug free workplace policy. Show a willingness to cross-train on additional functions at the facility. Dependable to work full time hours with flexibility for overtime. Knowledge of basic data entry skills. Good interpersonal communication skills to work as part of a small team. Strong work ethic, dependable for early start time, able to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Must be able to physically climb up and down transloading equipment and ladders safely. Ability to walk, bend, stoop, climb, and maintain balance throughout the day. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions as well as dusty conditions. Ability to carry fifty (50) pounds. Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
