shifts to support our logistics operations. This role involves safely maneuvering and transporting freight within our yard, ensuring timely loading and unloading of goods, and maintaining compliance with all safety and transportation regulations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to efficient logistics execution.
Duties
• Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers within the yard environment.
• Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques and appropriate equipment, adhering to safety standards.
• Use GPS navigation systems to accurately follow designated routes for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes when necessary.
• Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and hazardous materials regulations.
• Manage truck loading and unloading processes efficiently, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport or yard movement.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and maintain vehicle safety standards.
• Assist with logistics cargo handling, route driving, and delivery driving tasks as needed to support operational flow.
Qualifications
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with relevant endorsements for tractor-trailer operations.
• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving.
• Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and automobile transportation is preferred.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials handling, and dangerous goods transportation.
• Experience in truck loading/unloading, freight handling, manual transmission operation, and manual handling techniques.
• Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures and safety protocols.
• Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service.
