Yard Driver/General Labor

About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Yard Driver / General Laborer to join our Operations team. In this position, you will play a key role in safely operating equipment, including yard tractor/mule (manual), sorting and packaging materials, unloading and loading, and maintaining an organized, safe facility. Key Responsibilities but not limited to: Yard / Mule Driver Duties:  Drive trucks/yard tractors to weigh materials on scales accurately.  Drop materials in designated areas for pre-loads, piles, or pre-weigh piles for railcar loading.  Perform daily pre-trip and yard safety inspections of the yard tractor.  Inspect incoming and outgoing trailers for damage, proper seal numbers, and security hazards. General Labor & Operations:  Manually unload materials as needed  Package materials into designated forms following processing guidelines.  Sort materials properly for shipment preparation.  Maintain a clean and organized work facility, sweeping inside and outside work areas.  Safely operate assigned machinery and equipment in work areas.  Complete daily production sheets, paperwork, tally sheets, and production tickets neatly, accurately, and on time.  Conduct pre- and post-work area inspections; report damage or unsatisfactory conditions (racking, trailers, equipment) to supervisors immediately.  Perform other operational duties assigned by the supervisor or department manager. Qualifications & Requirements Required:  Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.  Active Drivers License  Physical: Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, lift, and climb continuously throughout working hours.  Lifting Ability: Capability to lift over 50 lbs regularly. Preferred Experience & Skills:  Experience: 1–2 years of experience operating heavy machinery, tractor-trailers, or specialized yard switching equipment preferred.  Warehouse Experience: Prior experience handling and sorting materials in a warehouse setting preferred.  Excellent awareness and precision backing skills.  Basic computer literacy for logistics tracking.  Strong customer service and communication skills.
