Key Responsibilities
• Operate yard tractors and spotter trucks to safely position, hitch, and move loaded and empty trailers between facility parking stalls and loading dock bays
• Connect and disconnect trailer air lines, electrical connections, and landing gears quickly and safely during trailer drop-and-hook procedures
• Conduct mandatory pre-and post-trip safety inspections on yard equipment and trailers, checking brakes, tires, and security pins
• Maintain real-time wireless or radio communication with dock clerks, dispatchers, and facility managers to execute trailer switches on demand
• Verify trailer numbers and seal counts against yard management system logs to guarantee high tracking accuracy
• Ensure the facility yard, access gates, and loading dock approaches remain completely clear of hazards, reporting mechanical defects immediately

Requirements and Qualifications
• Must be a United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident alien
• Must be at least eighteen years old or sixteen years old with a high school diploma
• Ability to pass a mandatory federal background check, a standard drug screening, and a physical fitness evaluation
• Must possess a valid State Driver's License; a commercial driver's license (CDL Class A) or prior experience operating heavy yard tractors/spotters is highly preferred
• Strong spatial awareness and a clean driving record demonstrating a history of safe commercial or heavy equipment operation
• Clear verbal communication skills in English to safely coordinate vehicle movements via two-way radios and team directives
