POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Yard Driver to join our Logistics team at our Welland location (90 Centre St, Welland, ON L3B 0R2). The Yard Driver will safely operate company vehicles, move trailers and materials within the yard, and support Logistics and Production operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Safely operate yard trucks, straight trucks, and articulated vehicles to move trailers, steel, and other materials. Move and position trailers safely within the yard. Load, unload, tarp, and secure materials as required. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any vehicle or equipment issues. Inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other safety components. Complete driver logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation. Follow company safety policies, procedures, and applicable transportation regulations. Maintain vehicles, equipment, and work areas in a safe and clean condition. Support Logistics and Production with other duties as required. WORKING CONDITIONS & SHIFT SCHEDULE Primarily work outdoors in an industrial yard environment. Must be able to work in hot, cold, and changing weather conditions. Guaranteed 40 hours per week, with the potential to work up to 60 hours per week based on operational requirements and business needs. Following training, Yard Drivers rotate between day, afternoon, and night shifts. Day Shift: Start times range from 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. Afternoon Shift: Start time is 2:30 p.m. Night Shift: Start time is 10:30 p.m. Shifts may range from 8 to 14 hours depending on operational requirements. Must be available to work all shifts as part of the rotation. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to climb in and out of trucks and trailers. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work outdoors for extended periods. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Valid Ontario Class AZ Driver’s License with Z (Air Brake) endorsement. Valid CVOR and satisfactory driving record. Air Brake Adjustment Certificate, where required. Previous commercial driving or yard experience preferred. Steel or manufacturing experience is considered an asset. Strong knowledge of safe driving practices. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
