Yard Jockey / Tanker Trailer Yard Driver Pay: $23.00–$25.00 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM Shift: 1st Shift Employment Type: Full-Time Position Overview Ember Gold Agency is seeking an experienced Yard Jockey / Yard Driver for a full-time first-shift opportunity with a diesel tanker truck and trailer maintenance operation. The primary responsibility of this position is safely and efficiently moving, spotting, staging, and positioning trailers throughout the yard and service areas . We are specifically looking for someone who has previous experience moving trailers in a busy yard, transportation, maintenance, trucking, or industrial environment. Previous tanker trailer experience is highly preferred. Candidates who have worked around diesel tankers, oil and gas tankers, liquid totes, tank cleaning operations, or tank wash facilities are especially encouraged to apply. Pay $23.00 per hour – Experienced Yard Jockey / Yard Driver Up to $25.00 per hour – Candidates with strong yard jockey experience and previous tanker, tank wash, or related tanker trailer experience Schedule Monday through Friday 7:00 AM–4:30 PM Day shift with a consistent weekday schedule. Responsibilities Move, spot, stage, and reposition tanker trailers and other equipment throughout the yard Safely back trailers into designated service, maintenance, cleaning, and staging areas Connect and disconnect trailers as required Perform frequent trailer movements throughout the workday Coordinate trailer placement with maintenance, service, and tank-cleaning personnel Inspect equipment before movement and identify obvious safety concerns Maintain awareness of pedestrians, equipment, trucks, and other activity within the yard Assist with maintaining an organized and efficient trailer flow Follow established safety procedures when working around tanker trailers and industrial equipment Communicate effectively with technicians, drivers, supervisors, and other team members Perform other yard-related duties as needed What We're Looking For Previous yard jockey, yard driver, hostler, spotter, or trailer-moving experience is required. Qualified candidates should have: Proven experience safely moving and backing trailers Strong trailer maneuvering and backing skills Experience connecting, disconnecting, spotting, and staging trailers Ability to work safely in an active truck and trailer yard Good spatial awareness and attention to surroundings Strong safety habits Dependable attendance and work history Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work around diesel trucks, tanker trailers, industrial equipment, and tank-cleaning operations Tanker Experience Is a Major Plus We are especially interested in candidates who have previous experience with: Tanker trailers Diesel tanker trucks and trailers Oil and gas transportation equipment Tank wash facilities Tanker or tote cleaning operations Industrial liquid totes Tanker maintenance or repair facilities Petroleum, fuel, chemical, or similar transportation environments Previous tank washing or tank-cleaning experience is a bonus and may qualify candidates for the higher end of the pay range.
