Company Overview: Systems Scaffolding is a division of the Breck Construction Group of Companies, which provide a range of construction services in multiple industries including the mining, construction, and oil & gas markets. Breck specializes in major projects at heavy industrial plants and is experienced in long-term maintenance, boiler inspections, shutdowns, expansions, and upgrading. Position Overview: The Yard Coordinator position is a permanent full-time, out-of-scope position. This position is responsible for the Systems Scaffolding yard and oversees all activities, including serving customers in the yard and maintaining receiving, unloading, and delivery schedules. This position ensures safety procedures are followed and is responsible for accuracy in order fulfillment and receiving procedures. He or she must execute the operating budget, supervise compliance with safety and fire regulations, etc. The coordinator is accountable for all materials and equipment in the yard. The yard coordinator safely performs all assigned tasks with sufficient speed and accuracy to avoid adverse impact on the level of service to customers and to achieve operating efficiencies. Responsibilities: Communicate effectively with customers, management, employees, wholesaler/manufacturer representatives and delivery personnel Ability to work cooperatively in a team atmosphere Safely operate equipment required for efficient yard operations including forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, gooseneck trailers and skid steers Move throughout the yard to monitor activities of employees, assist customers, check inventory status, and verify the safety and security of the yard Manage equipment and vehicle maintenance Track all inventory of tools and equipment both in and out of the yard and develop processes to ensure inventory is efficiently handled and monitored Develop and maintain receiving, unloading, and delivery schedules Report out of stock, surplus, lost and damaged items Maintain an orderly yard at all times Deliver and/or pick up material or supplies to and from various locations Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation Daily FLHA and Toolbox safety documentation Weekly Safe Work Plan Report any safety hazards/accidents in the yard Other duties as required Qualifications: 1-2 years of previous experience as a yard or warehouse coordinator, yard hand, or other related field Scaffolding knowledge is considered an asset High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Forklift Operation Certification Skid Steer Operation Certification Possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License - preference will be given to candidates with a clean driving record (driving abstract required) Organization Structure: The Yard Coordinator reports Division Manager Working Conditions: Working indoors and outdoors Travel to/from/within various jobsites Heavy manual labour including regular lifting of up to 50 pounds May be required to work outside regular work hours Daily exposure to construction environment (heavy equipment, inclement weather, etc.) At Systems Scaffolding, we pride ourselves in being an equal opportunities employer and proudly boast a diverse workforce.
