This hands-on, on-site role works closely with the Lot Manager to receive and move vehicles, operate yard equipment, organize personal property, and prepare vehicles for release and transport. The temporary assignment is expected to last approximately six months. It offers relevant experience for someone exploring a future in vehicle recovery, with the potential for continued employment or a future field position. Position details Location: Fresno, CA; on-site. Starting pay: $16.90–$17.50 per hour. Forklift-certified candidates start at $17.50 per hour. Candidates without forklift certification start at $16.90 per hour, increasing to $17.40 effective January 1, 2027. Shift hours: 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Workdays: Monday-Friday Assignment: Temporary employee, approximately six months. Benefits: CA sick days and Kaiser Medical Plan What you will do Receive vehicles: Check in vehicles delivered by recovery agents, document condition and identifying information, and position units in the yard. Move vehicles safely: Assist with staging and movement of cars, trucks, and other recovered units using approved procedures and equipment. Operate equipment: Use a forklift and other yard equipment only after required training, evaluation, and company authorization. Access locked vehicles: Use company-approved methods to gain authorized access while protecting vehicles and their contents. Inventory personal property: Remove, document, tag, and securely store belongings according to company procedures. Prepare vehicle releases: Stage units for authorized customer redemptions and transport pickups, and coordinate release documentation with the Lot Manager. Maintain the yard and warehouse: Keep storage areas, vehicle lanes, equipment, and workspaces clean, organized, and secure. Support daily operations: Communicate with the Lot Manager, recovery agents, and transport drivers; promptly report damage, equipment problems, and safety concerns. What you bring Dependability: Reliable attendance, attention to detail, and willingness to follow safety and security procedures. Vehicle knowledge: Basic understanding of vehicles and safe handling; familiarity with towing different vehicle types is helpful. Organization: Ability to keep accurate vehicle and property records and follow release instructions.
