Yard Associate/Forklift Operator

I-XL Building Products is seeking an experienced Yard Associate/Forklift Operator to join our growing Edmonton team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service, and thrives in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment. As one of the key distribution hubs, the Edmonton location requires a dependable team player who can confidently operate a forklift, efficiently load/unload building materials, assist customers and contractors, and help keep the yard operating safely and smoothly year-round. This role involves regular outdoor work in all weather conditions and frequent heavy lifting of materials weighing up to 100 lbs. Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Starting Wage: $24.00 per hour (annual increases based on performance) +benefits We're looking for someone who: Has a valid forklift certification and a minimum of 2-3 years of forklift operating experience in a yard, warehouse, building supply, construction, or related environment. Demonstrates safe and confident forklift operation while handling heavy building materials. Provides exceptional customer service and enjoys interacting with contractors, builders, and homeowners. Thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day. Is physically fit and capable of regularly lifting, carrying, and moving materials weighing up to 100 lbs. Is comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions. Has a strong work ethic, excellent attendance, and a proven record of reliability. Possesses strong communication skills and works effectively as part of a team. Understands and follows workplace health and safety practices. Holds a valid Class 5 Driver's License. Is legally authorized to work in Canada. Can successfully complete a background check. Preferred: Experience in the building materials, construction supply, landscaping, masonry, or lumber industry. Previous experience serving customers in a retail, wholesale, or contractor-focused environment.
