Big C LumberPosition Summary: Ø Ability to obtain Chauffuer's license Ø Provide assistance to customers Ø Receive and prepare material for shipment Ø Assist drivers Ø Observe the Mission Statement, Value Statement, Service Promise and Safety Program Essential Functions : Ø #1 priority is to ensure customer satisfaction while never compromising safety Ø Assist with ensuring yard is kept clean always Ø Unload vehicles and check for material accuracy Ø Place material in proper yard location Ø Use all required safety equipment Ø Assist other employees as needed Ø Load trucks for delivery Ø Put returns away Ø Check vehicles for any problems; including daily forklift inspections Ø Proper arrangement of material on trucks Ø Proper storage of inventory Ø Communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively with employees, management, customers, and suppliers Ø Perform any special assignment/projects as required by the Operations Manager Ø Asset preservation Ø Adherence to all safety and fire regulations and anti-theft procedures Ø Promote a positive image of BIG C Education/Experience Ø High school diploma or GED preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ø Basic math skills Ø Ability to become Forklift Certified Ø Ability to lift, carry, and move 80# to specified areas, in rough terrain, up/down steps Ø Ability to withstand exposure to harsh weather conditions Ø Attention to detail Ø Exhibit common sense Ø Ability to coordinate as well as work in a team Ø Ability to adapt to in-house software Other Duties and Responsibilities Ø Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice Expected Hours of Work Ø Full-time Ø Between the hours of 7am and 5pm Ø Weekend hours on occasion is possible in some locations Equipment Used Ø Multi-line phone Ø Fax /copier/printer Ø Calculator Ø Computer Ø Safety equipment Ø Forklift Ø Saws, pallet jacks, hand tools Ø Tarps, wraps, banding equipment Licenses & Certifications Preferred Operator License Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
