Wrecker Driver (Wheel Lift)

Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and skilled light duty wrecker driver to join our team to work full time. The ideal candidate will be responsible for towing vehicles, tire changes, and jump starts. This role requires a strong understanding of truck operation, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to handle various types of situations in roadside assistance. Responsibilities Use company provided tow truck to haul cars. Ensure timely delivery while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Roadside assistance, changing spare tires, battery jump starts. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition. Must be reliable to take calls at any time during your shift Monday - Friday. Will rotate weekends with weekend driver. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding route changes or issues. Operate a light duty wheel lift tow truck. (Can train the right person if you have some experience). Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record. Must pass a background check. Must be able to work weekends. Schedule will be a rotation of every other weekend. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must be able to operate and use an iphone. Skills Proven experience in driving a commercial truck. (Dodge 450 wheel lift) Strong knowledge of route driving and navigation skills. Experience with loading and unloading cars on and off a wheel lift. Familiarity with operating a wrecker is a plus. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ability to communicate with customers and give them pleasant experience.
