Here are some details about the position - Working Warehouse Floor Lead Delavan Fluid Power – Elkton, Kentucky Department: Warehouse / Production Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt Position Summary The Working Warehouse Floor Lead is a hands-on leadership position responsible for coordinating daily warehouse and production activities while actively participating in the work alongside other team members. This position helps ensure employees are working efficiently, daily priorities are being met, and materials and orders move through the facility accurately and on time. The Working Warehouse Floor Lead serves as the primary point of contact on the floor, allowing the Warehouse Supervisor to focus on planning, inventory management, scheduling, and other operational responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Daily Workflow and Team Coordination Coordinate daily work assignments based on priorities established by the Warehouse Supervisor. Help organize and balance workloads among warehouse and production employees. Monitor work progress and make routine adjustments to keep operations moving. Identify and communicate delays, material shortages, equipment problems, or other obstacles. Serve as the first point of contact for employees needing assistance or direction. Provide regular updates to the Warehouse Supervisor on progress and outstanding issues. Hands-On Warehouse and Production Work Work alongside employees performing shipping, receiving, order picking, packing, assembly, and other assigned duties. Assist in ensuring customer orders are completed accurately and on schedule. Help coordinate the movement of materials between warehouse and production areas. Verify that work is completed according to established procedures and quality expectations. Step in wherever needed to support the team and meet daily priorities. Team Leadership and Training Provide day-to-day guidance, instruction, and support to team members. Assist with training new and existing employees on procedures and equipment. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive working environment. Address routine workflow or quality concerns as they arise. Communicate ongoing employee performance or attendance concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor. Lead by example through reliability, productivity, and a willingness to assist others. Safety and Organization Reinforce safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment. Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and free of unnecessary hazards. Help ensure equipment inspections and safety procedures are followed. Promptly report safety concerns, accidents, or equipment problems to the Warehouse Supervisor. Participate in daily safety discussions and continuous improvement activities. Qualifications Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or production experience required. Experience leading or coordinating the work of others preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adjust to changing operational needs.
