Winter Snow Removal Subcontractor — Hand Crew Position Type Independent Subcontractor / 1099 Seasonal Winter Work Position Overview Evergreen Yard Care, Inc. is seeking dependable subcontractors for winter snow-removal hand crews servicing commercial properties. This role is focused primarily on sidewalks, walkways, stairs, entrances, emergency exits, and other areas that cannot be efficiently serviced by plow equipment. Subcontractors must be available during winter weather events, including overnight hours, early mornings, weekends, and holidays when necessary. Primary Responsibilities Subcontractors may be responsible for: Shoveling and clearing sidewalks and walkways. Clearing building entrances and exits. Clearing stairs, ramps, and emergency exits. Removing snow from areas around doors, dumpsters, hydrants, utilities, and other obstacles. Applying approved ice-melting products or sand where directed. Keeping designated pedestrian areas safe and accessible. Returning to properties for additional service during extended storms when required. Completing cleanup after plowing operations where snow has been pushed back onto pedestrian areas. Reporting icy conditions, hazards, property damage, or other concerns to Evergreen management. Following assigned routes and property-specific instructions. Documenting all completed service through Evergreen Yard Care’s required proof-of-service software. Proof-of-Service Software Requirement Use of Evergreen Yard Care’s designated proof-of-service software is mandatory for all subcontractors and subcontractor crews. Subcontractors are responsible for ensuring that required service documentation is completed accurately and at the time service is performed. Requirements include: Checking in and out of assigned properties as required. Recording completed snow and ice services. Uploading required service photos. Documenting salt or ice-control applications when applicable. Recording any property conditions, hazards, damages, access issues, or incomplete areas. Following all required documentation procedures within the software. Ensuring crew members who are responsible for documentation understand how to properly use the system. Immediately reporting any software, phone, or connectivity issue that prevents proper service documentation. Failure to properly document service may result in the service being considered unverified or incomplete and may affect payment for that service. Repeated failure to use the required proof-of-service software correctly may result in removal from Evergreen Yard Care’s subcontractor rotation. Winter Service Standards Subcontractors are expected to maintain Evergreen’s commercial snow-removal standards, including: Clearing designated hard surfaces thoroughly. Keeping entrances and primary walkways open and safe. Shoveling around obstacles rather than leaving snow packed around them. Pushing snow away from buildings where practical. Avoiding blockage of drains, runoff areas, emergency exits, and access points. Applying ice-control materials appropriately. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance at serviced properties. Reporting areas that cannot be safely or adequately serviced. Availability Requirements Winter work is weather dependent and may occur at any time. Subcontractors must be prepared to work: Overnight Early mornings Daytime Evenings Weekends Holidays During extended-duration snow events Reliable availability during forecasted snow and ice events is essential. Subcontractor Requirements Subcontractors must provide: Proof of general liability insurance. Proof of workers’ compensation insurance as required. Reliable transportation. A working smartphone capable of operating Evergreen’s required proof-of-service software. Reliable cellular/data access sufficient to complete required field documentation.
