This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your retail skills while immersing yourself in the world of fine beverages Responsibilities Assist customers in selecting wines and spirits by providing expert recommendations based on their preferences and needs Maintain an organized and attractive wine and spirits display that highlights featured products and seasonal promotions, and encourages browsing and purchasing Use the POS (Point of Sale) system to process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash handling and receipt issuance Upsell premium products by highlighting features, tasting notes, and pairing suggestions to increase sales Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of wine bottles and spirits in accordance with food safety standards Support menu planning efforts by suggesting beverage pairings that complement culinary offerings Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment Stay informed about new products, industry trends, and wine knowledge to enhance customer interactions Assist with inventory management, stock replenishment, and ordering to maintain optimal product availability Contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that reflects hospitality excellence and team leadership Must be 21 years of age or older. Qualifications Prior retail sales experience, preferably in grocery stores or specialty beverage shops Strong knowledge of wine service, spirits, food pairing, and beverage industry standards Knowledge of POS systems and cashiering procedures for accurate sales processing and responsible cash handling Excellent customer service skills with the ability to sell wine confidently to diverse guests Previous experience with menu planning, upselling techniques, and catering or banquet operations is a plus Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and engage customers confidently Familiarity with merchandising, stocking procedures, and grocery store operations Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management Team-oriented mindset with leadership qualities to support a collaborative work environment Demonstrated customer service excellence with a positive attitude and professional interpersonal and phone etiquette Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively Join us as a Wine & Spirits Associate where your expertise will inspire memorable experiences for our guests while advancing your career in the thriving food and beverage industry!
