Wine & Spirits Retail Sales & Inventory Specialist Harbor View Spirits , with two locations in the Charleston area, is looking for an experienced, motivated, and knowledgeable Retail Sales & Inventory Specialist to join our team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with customers, has a strong interest in wine and spirits, and has experience with inventory management, receiving, organization, and stockroom operations. Key Responsibilities: Retail Sales & Customer Service Provide exceptional, personalized service and help customers select wines and spirits based on their preferences, occasions, and budgets. Demonstrate strong knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and related products. Make thoughtful recommendations and build relationships with customers. Assist with wine tastings, special events, and store activities. Handle POS transactions accurately and maintain an inviting, well-stocked retail environment. Inventory & Stockroom Management Receive and check incoming shipments for accuracy, quantity, and condition. Organize and maintain stockroom and back-stock areas. Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation of discrepancies. Monitor inventory levels and communicate low-stock or overstock situations. Pull and restock products efficiently. Assist with transfers, special orders, and large customer/event orders. Maintain accurate inventory records and help resolve discrepancies. General Store Operations Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store and stockrooms. Assist with merchandising and product displays. Follow established procedures for receiving, storing, handling, and selling alcoholic beverages. Qualifications & Experience Previous retail sales experience, preferably in wine, spirits, hospitality, or a similar environment. Strong knowledge and genuine interest in wine and spirits. Previous experience with inventory management, receiving, warehouse, or stockroom operations . Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Comfortable using computers, POS systems, and inventory software. Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to regularly lift 30 lbs. and move cases of wine and spirits. Must be at least 21 years old and legally eligible to work in a retail environment selling alcoholic beverages. Compensation & Schedule Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and wine/spirits knowledge. $18-$25 per hour Employee wine and spirits discounts. Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and Saturdays.
