Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Winch Truck Driver role based in Nisku, AB. The Winch Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating winch tractors to load, secure, transport, and unload heavy and overdimensional equipment and materials for oilfield and specialized hauling projects. Day-to-day tasks include rigging and securing loads, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, following company and regulatory safety procedures, and accurately completing required documentation and logs. The role involves coordinating with dispatch, field supervisors, and site personnel to meet schedules, adapt to changing site conditions, and support remote operations as needed. The driver is expected to maintain equipment in good working order, report maintenance needs promptly, and represent Jerico professionally at client sites. Qualifications Strong heavy-haul driving skills, including safe operation of winch tractors and related equipment for oversized and oilfield loads. Proficient in load securement and rigging practices, including the use of chains, binders, and other tie-down systems for diverse equipment types. Solid knowledge of transportation safety regulations, hours-of-service rules, and company safety policies, with a commitment to safe work practices. Ability to read and follow load plans, site instructions, and route information, including operating in remote and challenging environments. Effective communication and teamwork skills for coordinating with dispatch, site crews, and supervisors, and providing clear updates on job status. Valid Class 1 (or equivalent) commercial driver’s license with clean driving record; relevant oilfield or heavy-haul experience is an asset. Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, lifting, and working in varying weather and site conditions. Safety certifications such as H2S Alive, First Aid, and other industry training are considered beneficial.
