Purpose and Scope:
• The Assistant General Manager works closely with the General Manager to oversee daily operations and contribute to the organization's strategic direction. This role involves managing staff, ensuring operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer service to meet organizational goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
•Assist in the day-to-day operations of the organization, including overseeing departments, managing resources, and ensuring efficient workflows.
• Supervise and support staff members across various departments, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Customer Service: Maintain a high standard of customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive experience for all patrons or clients.
• Assist in budget development and financial planning, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures to optimize profitability.
• Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and procedures to uphold quality and safety standards in all aspects of operations.
• Oversee inventory levels, procurement processes, and supply chain logistics to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize shortages or excess inventory.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives to achieve organizational objectives and drive growth.
• Collaborate with other department heads and senior management to coordinate efforts, share insights, and address cross-functional challenges or opportunities.
• Analyze performance metrics, financial reports, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing the organization's operations, including health and safety regulations, licensing requirements, and labor laws.
Skills / Other:
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with staff, customers, and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
• Knowledge of relevant industry trends, best practices, and regulations.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Job Competency / Qualifications
Education/ Training:
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Master of Business Administration or another relevant master’s degree is an added advantage.
Technical Requirements: • High proficient in MS Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with labor/workforce management and warehouse management systems (i.e. SAP, Red Prairie, Manhattan, JDA, etc.)
Experience:
• Five (5) years of professional work experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in the logistics, retail, or service industry.
