Job Overview The Town of Riverhead Water District is seeking a hard-working, dedicated and energetic Maintenance Mechanic II to join our team. In this vital role, you will be part of a team responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting the water distribution system for the Town of Riverhead. Duties Assists higher level maintenance mechanics in the installation and maintenance of water distribution system for the Town of Riverhead including individual lines, hydrants, live water taps, etc. Installs, maintains, repairs and replaces fire hydrants Performs basic maintenance and simple repairs to water district equipment Performs repairs in the field of carpentry, plumbing and minor electric work on/in the water district buildings Any other duties as assigned by the Water District Superintendent, the Town Supervisor and/or their designee Minimum Qualifications: Either: (a) Completion of two (2) years of vocational education courses in a vocational school program or in an apprentice or training program in one of the craft areas; or, (b) Two (2) years of experience in minor maintenance or repair work; or, (c) An equivalent combination of education, or training, and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b); or, (d) One (1) year of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic I.
