Summary/Objective The Warehouseman is responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, loading and unloading cargo trucks, and preparing of product for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion. Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, docks, and storage areas Load and unload trucks Prepare orders to be shipped Use forklift to pull yarn for other TenCate facilities Store yarn in warehouse Maintain organization and cleanliness in warehouse Place tag(s) on products that are received into the plant Serve as a backup for the Waste Coordinator when needed (covering PTO days and absences due to emergencies) Report any problems with materials or transportation to manager Follow all safety rules to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you Perform other tasks requested by manager Competencies Attention to detail Prioritization skills Self-motivated Effective communication Teamwork Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The candidate is frequently exposed to noise, dust and various chemicals, and moving parts requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and steel toe shoes. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the candidate is regularly required to talk, sit (for extended periods of time), walk, stand, and hear. The candidate will be required to twist/turn, reach out and overhead with hands and arms, and perform repetitive hand actions – grasping, push/pull, and fine manipulations. The candidate will be required to bend, stoop, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull with entire body weights up to 300 lbs. The candidate must be able to climb up and down steps frequently. Specific vision abilities required by this position include color vision, close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work will be determined by shift. Weekend and overtime may be required as job duties demand. Travel This position requires little to no travel. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency Certificate preferred. Must be able to operate a forklift. Certification to operate the forklift is required.
