Position Description · Mission Central, Inc. – 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit · Warehouse Operations Assistant · Supervised by Operations Manager of Mission Central · Part-time 20 hours per week average with up to 25 hours with prior management approval · 4 hour shifts – morning/afternoon/evening weekday shifts and at least one Saturday shift per month. Position requires flexibility in scheduling. Position · The Warehouse Assistant supports the Operations Manager to direct the efficient movement of donations in and out of warehouse safely and accurately using established Mission Central inventory processes and procedures · The Warehouse Assistant fosters relationships with item donors, community partners and volunteers, often serving as the first point of contact for the warehouse Interviews begin · The Warehouse Assistant provides clear direction, training, and support to warehouse volunteers while demonstrating commitment to Mission Central’s mission, vision and core values. · The Warehouse Assistant demonstrates solution-based orientation while balancing with task orientation for successful completion warehouse management Responsibilities Warehouse Management · Assists in overseeing daily warehouse operations including receiving, sorting, storing, and distributing inventory · Conduct, document, and provide monthly inventory counts to supervisor · Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator to pull supplies for the preparation of all kits and disaster buckets · Prepare and pull donations and supplies for distribution · Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking · Maintain building security by following established procedures · Maintain a clean and safe warehouse, including reporting all unsafe acts and behaviors, safety hazards, incidents or accidents immediately. Volunteer Leadership · Manage and support warehouse volunteers · Provide training on safety and warehouse operations · Foster a safe, productive, and welcoming volunteer environment Other Duties: perform other duties as determined by Supervisor Qualifications · High School diploma or equivalent required · Forklift certification is preferred. Extensive experience required. · At least 21 years old · Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, and other standard warehouse equipment · Ability to take direction and lead others with minimal supervision · Ability to engage and direct volunteers with diverse abilities and work collaboratively with all staff · Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as strong problem-solving skills · Knowledge of warehouse operations and management logistics · Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with Google docs. · Current PA Driver’s License · Ability to lift 30-50 lbs. regularly · Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods WORKING CONDITIONS: · Work is performed in numerous settings, including office and warehouse.
